WEEK 11 IN REVIEW

Monday 12/2

Today I said exactly what I thought/felt to some people who were being rude (I said, ''You don't have to be rude...'' haha) and it felt SO good.  I don't like being negative, but it was so refreshing to say what I wanted to say in the exact moment.  Basically, as a tourist, I find that some people have more respect for my money than they do for me as a person...  and their treatment of me depends on the money that I do or do not spend.  And I hate that.

We went to the ''Witches Market'' and saw a lot of dead llama fetuses... they give them to Pacha Mama as an offering!  There was a huge strike/riot all day, so we didn't get to go to La Plaza Murillo... lots of firecrackers that sounded like gunshots.

I face-first rappelled down a 17-story building today!  You can now call me Tom Cruise (Mission Impossible).  It was kind of scary but mostly just awesome.  Cost me $21!  The adrenaline rush cured my asthma problems, hilarious!  Like I took an epinephrine shot... I can BREATHE again!  I've been having asthma trouble for days (weeks?), I love this!

Tuesday 12/3

I got up at 6:30am to do a biking tour on Death Road (El Camino de la Muerte), got home at 8:00pm... sooo tired and hungry!

Wednesday 12/4

I love wearing short sleeves in December! The weather is so nice...

So... I can tell when I'm undernourished when I pass by restaurants and the chicken smells GOOD and I think, ''Mm, I want to eat that!'' which means that my body is so starved for protein that it will let me crave chicken, even though chicken will make me sick (I'm allergic to animal protein).  I NEVER crave meat unless it's been a few days with no protein.  Yesterday I was feeling that way about chicken, so I decided to increase my protein through soy, since there aren't any beans in Bolivia either!!! (Where are all the beans, if not in South America?! This protein source is seriously under-utilized!)  PS a liter of soy milk is $0.60! Amazing! I'm in love!

I could go for some 3-bean chili with corn, taco seasoning, and a little brown sugar and chili pepper, mmm!

Thursday 12/5

I ran out of pages in my journal, and I haven't been able to find a new notebook with good-quality paper! (They're all just cheap kid's notebooks with graph paper.) Sooo I will pick up the weekly updates when I can get a new one, most likely in Chile next week!
