Tuesday 11/26
Tomorrow is Machu Picchu! We've been traveling all day, from 1:30-9:00pm, and tomorrow we still have 5 hours to go. (I hope it's worth it with all this travel.) My entire day was spent on a bus. The end.
Wednesday 11/27
Happy Thanksgiving! I'm on my way to Bolivia. Well, first Lima... I'll get to La Paz (Bolivia) at like 4pm.
I got another marriage offer from my cab driver on the way to the airport. He kindly offered to let us live in the US or Peru. He asked for my email address and I told him I didn't have one (too tired to think of a better way out at 4:30am) and when he insisted that we stay in touch, I told him that I would see him again if it was our destiny. Haha. I hope it's not our destiny...
Machu Picchu yesterday was AWESOME!!! It took so much work to get there, but I'm glad I got to see it.
Tuesday we had a bus from 1:30-6:30pm ($5.50 each), then a taxi from 7:00-8:00pm ($3.50 each), then found a hostel ($3.50 each).
Wednesday we got up at 6:30am, left by 7:00... $1.75 each for a group taxi for 30 minutes to Hidroelectrica where the railroad tracks start, and we WALKED from 7:30-10:00am (2.5 hours, yes) to Aguas Calientes, ate breakfast/lunch, walked the hardest 2km of my life straight uphill for 1 hour 15 minutes (I literally thought I was going to die... it was soooo hard)... finally made it to Machu Picchu around 1:30pm, stayed for a couple hours, and walked down that hill in 25 minutes! Then 2 hours back to Hidroelectrica (by 6pm), and a man who was driving a group of school kids offered to take us to Cuzco with them for the same price that we paid taking 3 buses/taxis (35 soles, $12.50 each) and we drove from 6:00-11:30pm with them. It worked out really well, not having to make 2 connections and saving a couple hours.
We got to our Cuzco hostel at midnight, I showered and slept 2.5 hours, and caught a cab at 4:00am and here I am!
Friday 11/29
So much traveling yesterday... 4:00am to 5:00pm! Made it to La Paz, Bolivia.
Saturday 11/30
Today I wandered into town at 1:00 and met a guy named Cristian working in a music shop. I stayed there until 5:00 just talking and filming him playing some Bolivian instruments, it was super fun. I invited him to church tomorrow, I'm loving bringing non-members to church. :)
I wandered some more and went to leave at 7:30 and couldn't find a minibus until 9:10!!! So cold and so tiring. I finally made it back, and I'm more than ready to sleep. Church is at 8:30! What!
Sunday 12/1
Cristian came to church today! He was there at 8:30am! So impressed.
That is all.
